21 Moments Photography's Top 3 Maternity Preparation Tips
- Color Choices: Our first tip is to think about what colors you want to wear. Keep it simple and thing about it from an everyday point of view. Take a walk to your closet and look at what color clothes you have. Most of us ladies tend to gravitate towards the same color combo no matter what style of clothes we wear. So, take note of what colors you prefer. If you are a neutral color type of girl, then maybe boho chic, simplistic, or timeless may be the vibe that you want for your maternity photoshoot. Or if you wear a lot of bold colors, then dramatic, earthy, or contemporary may be your vibe. Once you decide on a color preference, you can speak with me so we can discuss what pieces in my client wardrobe closet match with your color choice, or feel free to bring your own outfit/dresses. No matter what you decide, this is a great first step to begin thinking about your dream maternity photoshoot.
- Vibe Check: Once you decide on a color choice, things will start to come together more easily. Since the color will dictate the dress/outfit you choose, then you will be able to figure out what vibe you are going for. This is definitely where I come in an assist you, as well, if you need me too. I know the right questions to ask to pull out the information I need to make sure this once in a lifetime moment is captured the way you envisioned. You can also create a mood board form maternity photos to use as inspiration. Please keep in mind that you are a unique woman and no one can emulate the beauty that you posses. It's definitely ok to want "something like that" from other photos you've seen, just trust me as your photographer to bring my own creativity and mix it with your gorgeousness to make some memorable magic.
- Tell What You Want, What You Really, Really Want: Because this photoshoot is meant to "spice up your life!" And we will do just that. Que your favorite song. Our time together will totally consist of jamming out to YOUR favorite songs. There is no better way to loosen up, right. And no I don't mean dancing if you don't want to, although grooving is perfectly acceptable. But picture yourself singing your fave lyrics, laughing, rubbing your baby bump, and simply glowing. Yes honey, you are smiling right now just thinking about it, aren't you? All you have to do is talk to me. Tell me what You like, what you don't like, and what you need. I'm a great listener. And I have no problem asking follow up questions to make sure I am clear on what your vision is. Maybe you aren't really sure and need my guidance. I will be there to help you every step of the way.
